Yes, but the cover must include cover for cardiac conditions. This is usually abbreviated as Silver or Gold level cover. Bronze cover or extras cover does not cover cardiac procedures. You should definitely call your insurer to check this before your appointment because it determines our ability to perform certain heart procedures and even to admit you to a private hospital under Professor Weerasooriya’s care.
Yes. The out of pocket fees will be dependent on your health insurance provider. Generally, anesthetists also charge a gap. It is the responsibility of the anesthetist to inform you of any gap ahead of time and it is your right to ask about this. In most cases the hospital fees are covered by gold or silver level insurance.
